| Intro
V8Soarer.com is constantly growing with
articles, facts and photos of performance mods for V8
Soarers. If
you're a V8 Soarer newbie and want to know how to fix a blinky
dash or what that red button is next to the gear selector, go to
soarercentral.com for general info. If you want to know how
to make it go, stop and handle better this is the place. Plenty
of info can be found about modifying the Twin Turbo JZZ30 Soarer and while
a lot is relevant for both there isn't really any repository of
info specifically for V8 owners.
Sure, V8 Soarers are comfortable, quiet,
quick-ish, luxurious to a degree and full of wacky gadgetry in
the UZZ31 and UZZ32, but
they can be so much more. Their suspension is practically
identical to the JZA80 Supra (Mark IV) so for their size and weight
Soarers handle remarkably well. With the basics already there the
driving experience can be made far more engaging without too much
effort.

My
own car is a 1991 UZZ31 which I bought in 2001 and a lot has
changed since then. Over the years it's
gradually transformed from a cruiser to a focused sports car
which I now take to the circuit. Here I am ready to leave the
pits for another session at Oran Park (Sydney, Australia). It
still looks stock but that will be changing over the next few
months with a heap of bodykit parts that I've been
collecting. |
Here's what I've been up to over the last
few years.
- 5 speed manual conversion (W58)
- Torsen LSD
- Rush extractors & 2.25" exhaust
- 18x8 front & 18x9 rear Rays 57S
- Heat shielded Pod filter
- Map-ECU
- 4-pot Celsior front brakes & TT
Soarer rear brakes
- Maltech braided brake lines
- Buddy Club coilovers
- Whiteline sway bars
- Reversing camera
- Tinted windows
- WRX STi seats
- Momo wheel

| If drags are your thing or
you just want more grunt, then how about supercharging? Here is a
good friend of mine Neil Griffiths of
Rush
Imports who has developed a bolt-on supercharger kit for V8
Soarers. This thing has loads of torque from idle all
the way to redline and makes the V8 feel as though it's
way bigger than it is. Perfect for those who want to retain
the auto gearbox and get better response. Neil is a guru
mechanic with all types of Soarers. |

I hope you get something out of
V8Soarer.com and if you enjoy your Soarer as much as I do I'm
sure you will. If you have any suggestions or if you've done some mods to your V8 Soarer that you'd like to share, please
email me.
Cheers,
Damien Smith
